How the CMAP works.

Baseline Capture:

At the start of each session, the CMAP guides the user through brief breathing exercises to establish a baseline for normal breathing patterns. These exercises help the device learn the user’s typical respiratory rhythms for accurate monitoring.

Monitoring Mode:
Once in monitoring mode, the CMAP continuously compares real-time breathing patterns against the established baseline. If the user's breathing deviates significantly, such as during episodes of shallow breathing or apnea, a signal can be sent from the connected application to the CMAP.

Alerts and Notifications:
The CMAP uses a built-in haptic motor or speaker to deliver gentle reminders, alerting the user to regulate their breathing. These prompts can help users quickly regain a healthy breathing rhythm.

Pulse Oximetry Functionality:

  • The CMAP features integrated pulse oximetry capabilities to measure oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate.

  • This requires an external sensor connected to the device via a USB-C port, which can attach to the finger or earlobe.

  • Additionally, the CMAP can be configured to work with most Bluetooth-compatible pulse oximetry devices, such as smartwatches and fitness rings, for seamless integration.

Vertical Applications of the CMAP

1. Addressing Day Apnea, and Screen Apnea.

The CMAP is purpose-built to tackle the widespread challenges of Day Apnea, and Screen Apnea, conditions where breathing disruptions occur during waking hours, often unnoticed.

  • Day Apnea, Treatment: The CMAP detects shallow or interrupted breathing in real time, providing alerts via haptics, visuals, or audio signals to help users correct their breathing patterns. This proactive approach reduces risks of hypertension, heart disease, and stroke.

  • Screen Apnea, Mitigation: By identifying and alerting users to subconscious breath-holding during prolonged screen use, the CMAP promotes healthier breathing habits, boosting focus, lowering stress, and preventing health complications.

2. Hypertension Therapy

The CMAP serves as a comprehensive tool for managing hypertension, mirroring the functionality of established devices like RESPeRATE while offering greater versatility.

  • Guided Breathing Programs: The CMAP delivers targeted exercises to slow breathing, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system to reduce blood pressure naturally.

  • Real-Time Monitoring: Its ability to provide immediate feedback ensures users maintain therapeutic breathing patterns.

  • FDA-Cleared Potential: With its advanced monitoring capabilities, the CMAP is positioned for FDA approval as a hypertension treatment device, offering a modern alternative to single-function solutions like RESPeRATE.

3. Breathwork for Wellness and Fitness

The CMAP elevates breathwork practices by integrating data-driven insights, making it an essential tool for wellness enthusiasts and professionals alike.

  • Quantify and Qualify Breathing Patterns: Tracks and visualizes breathwork techniques such as diaphragmatic breathing and pranayama, allowing users and coaches to measure effectiveness and adjust practices.

  • Guided Exercises: Includes programs for stress relief, relaxation, and improved lung capacity, empowering users to enhance their overall well-being.

  • Professional Application: Ideal for breathwork coaches, yoga instructors, and therapists seeking measurable outcomes and enhanced session efficacy.

4. Research and Clinical Applications

The CMAP is a robust tool for respiratory research and clinical diagnostics.

  • Respiratory Studies: Supports investigations into conditions like Day Apnea, Screen Apnea, anxiety, PTSD, and Tinnitus.

  • Detailed Waveform Reports: Produces accurate breath waveforms for analyzing irregularities such as tachypnea, bradypnea, or Cheyne-Stokes respiration.

  • Custom Data Insights: Enables tailored data analysis to identify correlations between breathing patterns and health conditions.

5. Corporate Wellness and Productivity

The CMAP is a game-changer for modern workplaces, addressing health and productivity challenges in high-screen-time environments.

  • Combat Screen-Induced Breathing Issues: Helps employees recognize and correct Screen Apnea to maintain focus and reduce stress.

  • Stress Management: Incorporates guided exercises to lower stress and improve workplace well-being.

  • Boost Productivity: Encourages healthy breathing patterns, enhancing mental clarity and reducing fatigue.

6. Medical Diagnostics and Alerts

The CMAP’s advanced monitoring technology ensures users and professionals receive actionable insights for early intervention:

  • Sleep Apnea Testing: With FDA approval, it can function as an at-home sleep apnea diagnostic tool.

  • Critical Condition Detection: Identifies and alerts users to dangerous irregularities such as apnea, shallow breathing, or orthopnea in real time.

7. Interactive and Therapeutic Applications

The CMAP extends its utility into therapeutic and interactive spaces, making it a versatile tool for various users.

  • Therapeutic Integration: Supports anxiety, PTSD, and Tinnitus management through guided breathing programs.

  • Interactive Breathing Apps: Seamlessly integrates with apps for meditation, fitness, and wellness to enhance the user experience.

  • Breath-Controlled Input: Serves as a breath-controlled interface for gaming and rehabilitative applications, enabling unique engagement opportunities.

8. Competitive Edge

Compared to existing products, the CMAP delivers unmatched versatility and precision:

  • Superior to Wearable Bands: Offers higher accuracy and comfort than chest or diaphragm-based respiration monitors.

  • Broader Application Range: Combines features of general wellness devices, hypertension therapy tools, and medical-grade diagnostic devices into one compact unit.

  • Affordability: Positioned at a competitive price point ($299 - $499), making advanced respiratory monitoring accessible to a wide audience.
